I'm not going to lie, this job is a nightmare but if you follow the correct order you will get there in the end.

Re: Mr Dawe's Centurion.
I have not noticed anyone on the forum using a sand/soda/bead blasting cabinet for paint removal - is there a reason for this? Just curious, as I've used a sandblaster for years and it is very efficient provided you regularly filter the medium.

Re: Mr Dawe's Centurion.
I know of a couple that have had their parts blasted by the professionals Michael but it can be expensive , I would normally use a wire wheel but this model has been painted using "graffiti paint" what ever that is, well I know what it is and that's tuff!

Re: Mr Dawe's Centurion.
In the book it's called a catch plate EH0671 on the hull bins. Not sure if the turret bins on the model came with latches or locking hasps.
Or a similar option may have come from Steve Winstone.

Re: Mr Dawe's Centurion.
Although the build manual shows EH0671 for the hull tool boxes, in the end - to the best of my knowledge - Armortek didn’t supply any catches:

Having said that, I’m surprised I’ve not found more references to this issue on the forum. It’s also long enough ago that I honestly don’t recall for myself what happened, nor do I have any emails from back then. Paul/Robin Margle made their own catches, myself and many others bought from Steve Winstone.Martin Taylor wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2013 12:49 pmHaving only just realised that the kit does not include the catches for the tool boxes ( Gill advises that they could not source them)has anyone found a supplier for them? I have seen what Paul has achieved but that is way beyond my capabilities!!

- A bit of hinge trimming required, take out each of the tiny bolts and form rivet heads on the lathe, make and fix the tarp rings and straps, the tie down/grab handles to the front , fit the new latches, make and fit angle iron underbin supports and the stand off fixings and we are done, oh and the fire extinguishers and apply the top coat, quite a lot still to do!

Now I know it doesn't look like I've done very much but I have at least perfected the tricky welded webbing loops along with the grab handle welded loops.
