Having only just realised that the kit does not include the catches for the tool boxes ( Gill advises that they could not source them)has anyone found a supplier for them? I have seen what Paul has achieved but that is way beyond my capabilities!!
Also I am having a problem with the lid to the large turret-mounted box. All the pictures etc suggest that the piano hinge sits on the outside of lid and box and , being unable to rivet, I have used 2m small hex-head bolts which look OK, but even cut off as close to the under surface of the lid as possible they still foul the curved edge of the rear upper inner section of the box thus preventing the lid from closing. It seems to me that even if I could rivet the same problem would occur. Is this a problem others have faced and/or is there a simple solution?? All the other lids have fitted satisfactorily.

Hi Ian,
Sorry you have the same problem but at least it is not just me!!I am going to try with the lid side of the hinge under rather than on top of the lid to see if that helps, but like you removal is not going to be that simple!Mutual good luck!

Problem solved! The lid side of the hinge needs to go under the lid not on top. This lifts it sufficiently to clear the rear wall of the box. Hope yours is as easy to fix Ian!

Re: Tool box issues
We riveted the turret bins with the hinges on the outside and ended up with a small gap on two, but the catches pull it shut.

Re: Tool box issues
Have you put catches on the turret- mounted boxes and if so are they the same as those for the mudguard boxes? The Armortek manual pic only shows catches for the latter. I am hoping to scource catches from Steve Winstone but had assumed that I only needed them for the mudguard boxes not the turret-mounted ones as well. Your advice would be much appreciated.

Re: Tool box issues
I put 4 catches on the big bin and 2 on each of the smaller ones, any reference picture will show it. It makes 20 in total for the whole tank.

Re: Tool box issues
Many thanks. All the refererence pics I have (including those I took at Bovington) seem to vary in the way the top bins are secured. If you have been able to use the same type of catch for all the boxes/bins then that makes that the sensible way to go.What sort of catch plates did you use/invent for the turret bins given that their lid design is different from the mudguard boxes?

Re: Tool box issues
I just used a straight plate for the turret bins and L shaped for the others. My catches don't actually work like the real thing, the wire part just pivots up and down and sits over the plate to pull the lid down.
