I'm using this linear actuator for barrel elevation... it is very strong...I just don't want to mess around with limiting switches..these are great and plug into the receiver like a typical servo...........

i would have liked to place the switch panel under one of the rear hinged grates but removing the Feifel filter ducting would of been a hassle...so I mounted the switch panel under the machine gunners hatch but I made it so it could swivel out of the way, this way I could place a figure there if I desired and no interference with periscope..

Fantastic build there Mark - beautiful bit of engineering. One question - is there any particular reason you are using a separate battery for the radio equipment, rather than a simple battery elimination device?

Thanks Peter !..the reason is I have many RC components left from my RC flying days including a box full of heavy amp batteries ! the more Mah...the better !

What happens if you switch the power to the radio off (everything else on)? I have set my failsafes, but if the radio fuse goes, that's a scenario I haven't tested...

Always set the failsafes ! a blown fuse ..bad switch ...you can pull your battery out and it should go into failsafe...when the signal is lost no matter the cause

I like you idea having the control panel swing out of sight. If you don’t mind I may try a similar set up when I get round to my Tiger.

Installed linear actuators and linear bearing. I doubled up on the actuators for extra strength and holding ability...worked great even with a 5 pound weight hung just behind the muzzle break and no counter weight needed...plus having the same control as a standard servo like servo travel and speed...also working on a blank firing system

Really cool additions Mark, following with interest. Those actuators make for simplified mechanism for sure. Will be interested to see your blank fire, recoil ideas.

That looks like a very robust and yet simple system

I would caution against having anything which sits down below the level of the turret, as it makes it a pain if you have to take the turret off "in the field", unless you have some form of frame on which to sit it.
