On the 2010 Mid Tiger and 2012 Late Tiger, the turret bearing part number was CE0490.

No ball bearings then, just a brass ring around the hole in the top of the hull.

If you can, I would seriously recommend following Steve Stuarts mods to fit a lazy susan bearing instead. I'm going to be doing that to a 205 Mid Tiger sometime soon. It makes such a difference, especially to a tank with as heavy a turret as the Tiger.

Hi Adrian, Andy
Here is a quick look at what I did a few years ago, the bearing is off ebay, router and a block of wood to steady it small cuts (the casting is very soft), cad off to the laser cutter for a new main gear and spacer, a few holes and 2 clips to hold the turret on. I also put smaller ball between each of the standard ball to stop the pinching that was happening then a little graphite powder and it is good to go. Pm me if you would like the dxf file for the laser cutting?

Thanks
Liam

I wanted to ask the "friends" of the forum, if they can tell me if Armortek has an upgrade kit to install a tiger turret rotation pad. Mine is a Mid 2010. I have already asked Armortek twice, but have I had no answer? !! Many thanks to all.

Hi Ivano

It seems that there is no official upgrade kit but you still can get the parts separately. Did you see this thread?

Hi Vince,
yes, I have seen this topic, but I must confess that it is not clear to me how the work was done. Unfortunately with the translator everything becomes very difficult. I searched on the Internet for a rotating crown (bearing) with the inner diameter equal to the diameter of my turret (28 cm). But I found only 25, 30 or 35 cm. Perhaps the new tower has other diameters ?? !! Thank you

Ivano

I measured my bearing and it has an outside diameter of about 350mm and an inside diameter of about 300mm. Something like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium-La ... 01m_Vffa-A

The hull roof hole diameter is about 325mm so it seems to be bigger than yours.

Try and get in contact again with Armortek to see what they say. Sometimes when they are busy they may take some time to respond.

In bocca al lupo

Vince

Hi Vince,
Armortek answered. Currently there are no spare parts available for the tiger1. I will have to invent something simple, if possible, having reproduced the inside of the turret, I must respect the general dimensions of the Armortek 2010 design.
Anyway thanks
