Pak 43/41 - Collapsing suspension?

Hi Chaps

The suspension on my part-built Pak 43 has just decided to decided to collapse :twisted: :twisted: at least it waited until I had left the model club :oops: :oops:

Any ideas on why anybody :idea: :?:

All suggestions gratefully recieved :mrgreen:

Use an apple press,it's easier. :D ...joking aside me ol mate ive never put one together, but some photos of the offending part for the aficionados will help no end, as it always does!

Hi Leon,
I acquired a pak43/41 last year that had been built by someone else. When I had a look at the suspension, which was faulty, I found there is a screw placed at the centre of the axle underneath the gun. This screw had stripped the thread so had allowed the axle to rotate and the suspension collapsed. I re tapped the hole to a slightly bigger size and that cured the problem. Hope that helps.

Hi Kevin

We reckon it was a couple of loose grub screws - took everything else apart and all looked O.K.

Anyhoo, offending grubs now back in with a dab of threadlock and she remains upright :D
