Re: Churchill Prototype
Thanks guys
How would a Churchill crew repair a broken track in the field?
They would not have had access to an angle grinder or welding equip.
I hope welding isn't required for the new kit.
Cheers Charles

Re: Churchill Prototype
Welding the track pin retaining flange in place - starts at 1m 6 seconds
We will not expect people to weld the pins in place
- instead we will use a lightly knurled track pin and a grub screw.

Re: Churchill Prototype
Looks great!
Any chance of optional barrels? Such as long 6 pounder or 75mm for Churchill MIII*?
Cheers,
Alex

Re: Churchill Prototype
Churchill tracks - to avoid people having to weld plates on the links to hold the pins in place (like the real thing
) - the track pins are are knurled at one end. As a belt and braces approach we also have a grub screw that will lock the pin in place.

Re: Churchill Prototype
Front and front deck of the Churchill. Almost complete - just need to add in the lights and hull mounted machine gun - which will be animated with a servo.
In the image below you can also see the turret floor going in and the mounting brackets for the the main gun mount.
