Lubricants? Is it normal practice to lubricate the barrel inside the mantel and the turret ring? Something like graphited grease? All suggestions will be appreciated.

One thing to note is that a tank with a lubricated turret ring is very messy to work on, as you'll get the grease all over your hands, arms and sleeves when working inside the hull with the turret off.

The turret and deck arrived in Oxfordshire on Saturday. Messed up my electronics layout and track tension but Dad has done a great job.

Could the Tiger 1 drivers actually see anything useful?

I managed to angle it down a bit but not much better.

The video does make it pretty clear that visibility is very limited. Sounds like my "customer" is OK with it though.

Just done a suspension rebuild in our Oxfordshire Depot and found the torsion bars next to the torsion arms were coming loose, has anyone considered brazing these parts together?

Hi Graham, absolutely not for brazing the torsion bars to the arms, the spring steel would lose its heat treated properties, and so you would have to attempt to get this back by heating and quenching with two dissimilar metals which is virtually impossible, you may have grub screws that hold the bars tight, these may have a taper/angle at the base, try grinding these flat to improve the contact area with the torsion bar regards Phil.

Have to agree with Phil on the torsion bars to the arms, grinding the point off the grub screw is the way to go.

Like the Video cameras, I remember trying to drive my Tiger just using the camera feed to my phone from the drivers vision slot, no chance. you can have quite a lot of fun with those Cmos Cameras!

Turns out my Dad was right and very difficult to bend without the right tools. So doing what Steve Stuart suggested a couple of years ago and making from aluminium.

At a show last weekend I was rueing the selling of my old Turret "Lid" as it would have made a good tea tray for carrying cups back for everyone from the Catering Van Steve
