Just shows just how much you know your subject Brian. It’s definitely the right Jack. Have you fitted one to one of your tanks?

Sorry guys but I need your assistance again.

How do I finish the ropes ? Are they camouflaged or painted silver or just left alone.

Thanks

These are parts CK2405 & CK2405M - as you can see they are 3.5mm different in size. It must be wrong on the lower edge as the bolt holes do not line up on the larger part. I have no milling machine or access to one - any ideas?

Michael,

Im at about the same point. The right turret side has a couple of issues on mine. In addition to the one you point out, there is a difference in the cut where it fits over the step created at the junction of the front and rear floor. Also the bend is not conducive to fitting around the curve of the forward floor.

I look forward to responses from the pros, to your question, as I am in the same boat.

I have all the same issues but to be honest the others are not going to cause a problem.I put longer bolts into the side panels just as a trial and I was able to pull them much tighter to the base plate. I think the gap in the step you refer to will be covered up with fillers etc when finishing the tank. I’m really struggling with the extra size panel and hope that one of the master builders out there can give me solution when they have the time.

Good luck with the build.

If I can be of any help just shout but to be honest there are much better modellers out there than me I’m afraid.

Hi both.

Thanks for the heads up, I have just checked my loosely put together turret, mmmh, interesting :?

Here is my before:-
Odd on so many not levels.

After adjustment:-
After some adjustment, with mallet, some things line up
After some adjustment, with mallet, some things line up
I appreciate that there will be some more head scratching to come once I start on the build. I also realise there will be some power file work too.
BTW I used a wooden mallet to adjust things.

Cheers

I also found the lower front edge of that right turret side drags on the hull deck, That has to get fixed.

My rubber headed mallet came in real handy to day but it will need more that to make the right hand side to be the the same size as the left hand size !!!

Mark.

Doesn’t it sit on top of the base leaving the top lopsided?

It shouldn’t drag?

It is hard to tell, but on top of that panel being too tall, the bend in mine appears to make it to tall in the rear and too low in the front.

Thats why I am still checking and re-checking. Id rather check a dozen times than start removing material before I am 100% sure.

I have a plan for shortening (or trimming) once I am convinced where it should be done. I plan on clamping a 1" (or so) wide strip of steel on each side of the area to be trimmed. Set them for where I want it to end up, then use a flappy wheel to start taking off the aluminum. The steel strips will become a guide of sorts.

Looking at your picture for a while, your right side is much larger than your left side just the same as ours.

Someone must know how to resolve this as chances are all the 2019 KT kits had the same issue.

Looks like you have got yours to bolt together because you have not fixed it to the base plate.

On mine I can’t get it fixed as the bolt holes do not line up by - surprise surprise - 3.5/4 m

Hi Michael
They are, though I will check tomorrow to see how tight/loose I have fitted the floor.

Take care all

Michael. I found the issue with mine. The same right side plate. But mine is taller in front than the left one, so it hangs down belox the front floor about 4mm. The roof fits real well so the rest is some cosmetic filler.
