Hi
Anyone know of a source of some M2.5 Castellated nuts?
Looking at getting hold of some prior to starting my Panther G build.
Thanks

Re: M2.5 Castellated nuts
Hi Malcolm,
Are you looking for M2.5 castle nuts for the roadwheels? If so, the real vehicle used M14 bolts and nyloc washers on the the outer face. But the nylocs are not the modern standard pattern - they are taller by about 3 mm and Type P as opposed to modern Type T. I know this 'cos I restored all 32 wheels of the Weald Foundation Jagpanther and also supplied all the wheel and sprocket nuts for the ex-Jacques Littlefield Panther which now resides in The Collins Foundation Collection in the US.
To find M2.5 nyloc nuts of the correct height might be difficult, My advice would be to use the excellent dummy studs as supplied by Armortek. They work fine on my Jagdpanther - not sure how they would work on the new steel wheel Panther G though.
Attached are some shots of the wheel restoration back in 2004.
All the best from Normandy.

Hi Graham
Yes, that was what I was planning for the road wheels.
Do the drive sprockets use them?

Hi Dave,
Yes, the sprockets use castle nuts and split pins. From memory, I think they were M16 which in scale is 'twixt M2.5 and M3.
Here's what they look like in the flesh.
