Split pins for me and I am probably the only person who has done a lot of running at shows and Bovington since the build and apart from replacing the drive sprockets (because I think they wore down during experimenting during the build) I have not had any problems.

A question guys, are these fitting heat shields for the twin exhausts? Also shouldn't they be at a slight angle?

Lots done although it doesn't look like it. I must add that if you use the split pins rather than the nice pins from Armorpax the tracks will work to a fashion from the box.

The reason the tracks are being shed generally in one direction is the misaligned pin holes which cause the track to run at an angle, one direction pulls the track into the hull the other direction it jumps out of mesh and it simply falls of the outside of the sprocket. The correct pcd sprocket should help keep the teeth in mesh.

The track is about as good as I can get it but the pin holes are always going to be out of true in 2 different plains !

The track link pin hole alignment is awful but we have to work with it, you guys that say you have good tracks should have a closer look.

I think Phil is selling himself short here.

An immense amount of thought and work has gone into getting the tracks right, particularly the sprockets. A big thanks from me to him for this and to Mike and Vince for their help.

It's looking like it's going to be a big improvement over the stock kit but I guess only time will tell on that one. If this does prove to be the case, which having spoken to Phil I'm confident it will be, a little recognition from Armortek wouldn't go amiss IMO.

Thanks Dave! Dennis it's a 3d print in pla just to get the fit right but they seem very resilient, steel sprockets can be made either by cnc or using the 3d print as a template in what ever material you choose.

This is looking great. Very pleased with the running and a nice upgrade from Armorteks unofficial R&D team.

I've asked Phil for a final build that will be robust and hence limit the amount of maintenance. The replacement sprockets should help achieve this.
