Hi Dennis, I will build as suggested by Armortek using the single motor drive that way the rear will look like a carrier but I may tweak the steering some what, we will see.
David has all the bells and whistles for his carrier so the detail is paramount. The Vickers is going to be a nice addition.

Note the small tubes used as spacers under the castle adjusting nut. I did some on mine Graham Hough page. Carrier 34 page 2

Yes that's a nice mod Graham, I suppose it will help keep tension on the springs also as there's a lot of thread? The m3 spacer and the ero228, what's the difference, is 228 a washer? There are 2 m3 spacers in the parts bag not 4 for each pair of spring units.

Sorry Dave for taking so long to reply. 228 is a washer but I used some brass washers of a suitable size from my stock. The originals show quite chunky washers.

Lots done today. David we are going to need a handful of reduced head m3 all thread bolts.
This is a great kit to start your plunge into tracked afv's, it's still challenging but very doable for the novice.

Thanks Malcolm, if anyone wants the same suspension detail I may offer the work, it's a great kit and these little details really make it "pop"
I often wonder, what if Armortek offered this level of detail would there be any interest.....I don't need the work but the kit does. How about it Armortek.

Mark always said he could include much more detail, but then no-one could afford the kit.

The big question is - how are you going to tackle the drive train ?

Regarding the drive train Adrian, I intend to build as per the instructions manual and so understand the principal which seems fairly straightforward, ie a single motor, a differential and steering brakes. It all works on the official video.
From what I can see so far, the model operation is far to snappy with a lack of smooth control/operation. The real thing was snappy, fast, maneuverable, you could jump the thing and get out of trouble when required, all when driven with intent by an inlisted guy who wasn't responsible for fixing the machine.
Running and turning the model on grass is a ridiculous ask of such a tiny vehicle.
We have the upgrade track pins to install which sorts the tracks out, so that's one big problem out the way.
I shall set up the running gear so it's all perfectly in line.
The amount of suspension travel concerns me as we all know the track tension is seriously affected by the ride height, the sprung weight, which constantly changes over uneven ground etc. So some rnd there.
The 12v motor being run on 7.2v needs looking at, volts, amps, torque etc.
Maybe a different esc but we shall see.

Then we get onto the twin motor option, well that's maybe the way forward but the appearance of the rear is severely compromised.
