After shading that small part I decided the whole engine could use some shading!




For replicating the 'metal' effect on the parts I used my trusty tootbrush again for some drybrushing




And soms dust

Pigments are another nice way to weather, really easy. Put them on with white spirit, let it dry, brush a little, done!







I think this is the ultimate 'dusty' look, best method I found so far.

Remember my request for more (color) pictures of Maybach engines? And that I could hardly find any? Well... Forumuser AlastairCooke pointed out to me the answers were right under my nose all that time! I already own this incredible book!





Actually there are MANY pages like this!



So this will be great help if I ever have to paint a third engine... (and I will, for an Armortek 1:6 Jagdtiger!)

Now... David Parkers excellent Köti build in 1:16 showed these stickers on the air filters:

NO idea what the text says (something about German regulations I guess) and no better (real) pictures to be found, let alone decals in 1:6...

I would still like to know what's on the stickers but in the meantime I designed my own.
