Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
I have had to alter the front to be able to fit the hand brake and linkages, made a new asymmetrical front armour, still have to make the folding bottom half and correct hinges, while I had it stripped down I made and fitted the hydraulic tank

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Cut a new lower armour in steel and made new hinges, these are only fixed on the bottom half’s as they still need to be dismantled

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Had a few days away from the pak, looking at it today I realised the new front armour and hinges were not up to scratch so I binned them, made a start on the brake drums, these are just loosely fitted while I sort out the rest of the linkages

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Bit more progress on the brake drums, parts loosely fitted, the arms for the brake cable need making and fitting

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Linkages fitted and working, just the hand wheels for the adjusters, and the attachments for the brake cables to make, then stripped, fettled and small detail added

Jeff those brake drum are really something. You're upping the bar you set before on previous projects. Simply awesome!

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Thanks for the kind words Bob, the brake drums were a bit fiddly but nearly there, just need to trim a few bits, and reposition the oilers on the adjusters, they should be facing forwards

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Made a start on the hand brake, this showed that the brass front I made for the chassis was not wide enough, made an over size one and will trim as needed, made the hand brake cable guides and levers these all function

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Handbrake made and fitted, brake cables fitted to front and rear linkages but not yet connected to the brake drum arms, this is how far I got today

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Thanks for the kind words Bjorn, back on the build after a few days off, made another frontal armour, this is 26mm wider than supplied, correct hinges with the bar running full length at the back, and a locking pivot to hold the bottom armour in place
Regards Jeff
