Hi Steve
I wish I could take credit for the housings but they are Mike Stannard's awesome work.
Hi Kent
I painted a base coat of mostly black with some rust mixed in to give it a warmer, brownish color. Then I mixed rust with some yellow to get the lighter, orangey color and randomly stippled it on with a brush. Then I stippled on another thinner layer of the dark color I used as the base coat which helps give it that depth/layering effect.
Basically I just faked it.
Mine look like a lighter bakelite then your example but when they are mounted under the armored guard they look fine. I'll take some pictures when they are all installed.
Regards
Tim
