Thank you Ray, I do seem to spend most of my life building Armortek models and or building my own creations that would only get built because I have Armortek parts available to me.
I have no plans to build the Elefant but you never know!
Once covid is out the way then I have a KT, Rolls Royce, Stug and possibly a carrier to build, and maybe a Mighty Antar and trailer. The latter, ie the Antar, or any more of my "off topic builds" sadly won't be here on this forum as it's getting very busy with all the wonderful new releases from Armortek. I should really start thinking about my own 1/6th website with build forum I suppose but it's very expensive, there is always utube.
Regards Phil.

Whilst working on the turn table I came across this photo, it clearly shows the turning arc in this instance but in reality it never turned this far, so I guess it's gone past the stops and wedged the wheels against the chassis.

There was a company in Germany I think it was that sell all kinds of larger scale truck wheels but I can't find them on the web.

Hi Phil!
Great work!!!!!

Look at
https://pistor-modellbau.de/produkt-kat ... eifen/1-6/
for tyres.
This company also makes custom tires.

Does the thin plate bear all the weight of the drawbar/turning table?

Greetings from Germany
Michael

Thanks Michael, there are 5 layers of 1mm plate in total that make up the turning table structure, the frame is 5mm x 20 x 20mm Ali "u" channel, so plenty strong enough. 8)

The turn table is just about done but for a few more detail parts like cosmetic bolts, oh and the air brakes system which can be installed once the draw bar has its air hoses and fittings. 8)

The web site that Michael suggested is great but nothing big enough for the 1/6 Faun wheels and tyres but I have found a 1/8 supplier that has parts that are very close, so the massive Faun may get built.

The 1/1 spring sets had progressive suspension, it used two sets of leaf springs per side so when carrying a light load just a few leaf springs were engaged, as the weight went up the next set would kick in ( far to complicated in this scale), so to compensate ive fitted Armortek tiger 1 adjustable rubber bump stops top and bottom, these work as bump stops but also provide a very stiff but flexible ride whilst protecting the leaf springs from being over stressed. Well that's my theory anyway.

It's nice to see the creativity on here, some people say they are bored at home during lockdown, buy an Armortek kit, enjoy yourself, the more this trailer build goes on, the more interesting it is, keep at it Phil, regards simon.
