The Sonderanhanger 115 10 ton trailer.

Post by Phil Woollard »

Good news as we have the green light for this thread. I've made a start with one of the most difficult parts to reproduce, the rear fenders. 8)
I won't be posting to often as correctly so, the company's builds and builders come first. Let's hope that Armortek offer a kit for sale in the future as I think it may do quite well.

I may use some flak wheels or 222 wheels not sure yet, there were a few different wheel types used..

There won't be to many printed parts as the trailer needs to be robust enough to carry the lighter panzers.

I think with Vince's help we are getting there. The fenders have taken 30hrs to print each side.

The Armortek wheels are mini works of art. You can see why I was asking for 222 wheels these being fairly close to the originals, each trailer will require a total of 9.

I need to make these look more like the original trailer tyre and wheel. That's the 1/35 on top for comparison, note that this version shows no tread pattern in the middle section.

It's getting there just a bit more time on the lathe.

Nice project. An Armortek kit would be desirable too.

Hello Phil,
I would like to be part of the project. I hope to get one of them for my Famo. That would be very cool

Phil,
Great project. I too am following with Interest. I think you are overworking your team of 24-7 "wonder-elves" however. They can't possibly complete 3 or more projects at once!

I think the SD.AH. 116 would cool for the FAMO! Can you and your team do that next?

Best regards,
Bob

I'm reducing the diameter of the Armortek axle to fit inside the square box section which just happens to be the right dimension.

Very cool Phil! I about fell over when you said "batch of these". If I had something to pull it with - I'd take you up on one. Where did you find or make the CAD renders? Excellent!

I think she's coming along quite nicely, it's great to have the Armortek axles, wheels and tyres, also the wheel hubs are elefant road wheel hubs.

The large square swivel blocks are from the Bergepanther kit, they made up the cross bracing that the winch sat on.
