Worked on the hatch lid lock...the springs are functional....I noticed with the larger springs at the hinge that it helps with initial lift of the hatch lid then helps to keep the lid locked once fully opened...I wonder if that is how the full size worked ?

Slowly making progress...but there is a light at the end of the tunnel...locking latches..rubber head protection pad and simulated welds then off to paint

The cupola is finished other than final paint and weathering...was a lot of work but I think it was worth it as for me it is one of the focal points when I look at a model.....one last thing to build the stowage bin then final paint..

Still need to make lids and mounting brackets...made from .038 stainless on the side walls and .080 on top and bottom...drilling .028 holes in stainless steel for rivets will test your patience and sanity carbide drill bits cut nice but so very fragile and tough to remove broken piece if nothing to grab on to !

Decided to make a new turret bin as the geometry was off on the 1st one I made...riveting is more accurate also....lid latches then final paint and weathering to complete project
