I think I'm going to have to get a cart like that with the jack and wood offsets. I actually already have 2 jacks like that for ATVs, I just have to get the cart from Harbor Freight. I imagine the PIII is about to get pretty heavy and I just put my deposit down on the King Tiger so I'm probably going to need it for that too.

Your photo of your shop area is a great comment on keeping a clean, tidy work area.

BTW, are those anti-static electric discharge matts? I don't hear enough about how important those are when working with the electronics to prevent wiping the memory chips and micro-processors in the audio and motion control modules.

Tom, it’s easier to find 2.5mm hardware with a clean floor!

The mats are rubber floor mats from Home Depot and a floor traffic rug they are good for protecting the floor and pad my knees when I’m crawling around on the floor.

That's a really nice zim job.

On some period photos of late model tigers I'm seeing where the crew would attach extra track sections to the right and to the left front glacis. That is, they would mount them somehow just to the right of the bow machine gun ball, and to the left of the driver's armored blocks. In addition, they would mount extra tracks to the front hull, as we've seen on many of the early and mid models.

Has anyone else seen this?

I found a photo of what I was trying to describe about the extra tracks-as-armor on the front of a Tiger 1.

I wonder how the extra tracks were attached to the front?

I have seen those. I think they were hooked on with pieces of metal added in the field.
