Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
Due to clipping at top of photo and aspect, unable to tell for certain if MG ring is there or not. I suspect it is. The track hangers also indicate not a late war model
Definitely not a 507. Their first number was taller than the others. I think the black on white numbering will help identify it to one of the other Schwere Abteilungen but I cannot remember which at the moment.

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
Schwere Panzer Abteilung 503, Normandy, sometime after June 1944, when the Ersatzkettenglieder (spare track link hangers) were introduced, 1944. Judging by the posed picture and the newness of the camouflage, the image might date to Aug 1944, when the Third Company of Schw Pz Abt 503 was re-equipped with Tiger II.

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
Red number had long since stopped being used as the colour stands out from a distance s.Pz.Abt.503 used black numbers outlined in white.
Stephen the first picture is from Normandy the picture depicts this Tiger having a repaint, the second picture with Vom Rosen was taken some time latter when the Abteilung was parading before being deployed to Hungry in September.
the MG ring was dropped some time in 1945 before all would have had this feature.

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
Just spotted something interesting on page 73 of Königstiger by Lukasz Gladysiak, Mike Koenig & Jacek Szafranski, Schwere Panzer Abteilung 501 used different colouring during the Battle of the Bulge, black numbering for 1st Company, red for 2nd Company, blue for 3rd company.
Should the La Gleize KT 213 actually be red on white ?

The La Gleize Tiger II was an SS Tiger from 2nd company s.SS.PzAbt501 and their numbers was red outlined in white.
Some Googling will tell you more about this Tiger II.

Hi Armortek,
I loved building my King Tiger, any chance of offering the first turret, the so called (Porsche turret)?

Simon, it looks like that one tank is in a display case of some kind. Can you zoom out and take a picture of that as I'm curious to see what you've done there?
