Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
Due to popular demand, we would like to announce that around the end of 2019 we will be re-releasing the King Tiger Armortek kit.
Last released by Armortek in 2013, and sold to customers in over 14 countries, this amazing model continues to be highly sought after.
The new kit will have the usual option packs of Motion, Sound, Smoke and Recoil – along with gun barrel smoke.
The kit will feature the production version of the Krupp turret rather than the initial version that is sometimes called the Porsche Turret.
Pricing for the kit will be £4,295 plus VAT (for UK & EU customers)* plus Postage & Packing. (see note below). Option packs are priced separately.
We are also offering potential customers the opportunity to make pre-payments on a monthly or quarterly basis leading up to the kit release to help spread payments. If this is of interest to you then please contact us at Sales@armortek.co.uk.
If you have a King Tiger, why not use this thread to show off some photographs/ videos and we may use them in our social media postings ... help us get the word out!
*Depending on the outcome of BREXIT, we may not need to charge EU customers VAT – instead you will need to pay duties on import into your country.
We also reserve the right to change the pricing in the event of a devaluation of the GBP/ spike in raw material prices.

Hi,
Like the idea of pre-payments! I'm sure this will help sell a few more kits, why not offer a jagdtiger?
Regards
David

The Maus must have been the second prototype as it was the only one finished with a turret.
later (according to that fount of all knowledge, , Wkipaedia), the Russians captured both and as the second prototype was a wreck, they used eight famo's to pull the turret off and fitted it to the more or less intact first prototype and it is now on display.

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
Can we keep this thread on-topic - i.e the re-release of the King Tiger.
I appreciate that there are many models that people want, as we saw from the survey and the multiple threads on this forum, but it is not very constructive if we put out a thread about a new model and people immediately reply that they would like something else.
David - like your KT photographs. As Simon says the first couple look like the real thing. Will use one of them on our homepage later today.

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
I know that the upcoming release will be the Krupp turret. I have heard that they made two different mantlets for this turret is that correct? I believe they ditched the machine gun coppula ring on the later models. So how many originals were built total 400-500? What sort of configuration were built and produced and which one is the model going to depict? I’m guessing this is an easy answer by some of the more experienced builders in the community.
Thank you, Brian

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019
Hi Brian,
My info is that Krupp manufactured both turrets. The "Porsche" design on the first 50 vehicles and the "Henschel" design on the remainder. I am unaware of two different mantlets for the "Henschel" turret.
The books that I have, indicate that the MG ring on the cupola was dropped towards the end in favour of a simpler pintle mount but I have seen photos of ones belonging to Schwere Panzer Abteilung 507, the last Abteilung to be re-equpped that have the MG ring fitted.
With the KTs of 507 fighting in close proximity to where I now live in April 1945, I am opting to go for the pintle mount on mine.
Regards
Mark

Seems a great shame not to be offering this run with the option to have the Porsche turret instead
