Just wanted to say a quick hello having obtained an Armortek Tiger 1 at long last (2012 edition, hull number 10). It has taken a while but what a gorgeous thing it is too - very thrilled with it! Up until now the first r/c model I had was a model works Tiger purchased just 6 months ago, so I am still trying to grasp some of the basics.
I have given the tank a preliminary look over (it has motion, smoke and sound options) and I have a couple of initial questions: Is there just the one build manual consisting of 79 pages? The track adjusters at the rear of the tank are hard up against the rear of the hull - I presume this is not normal? Is this solved by removing a piece of track (currently the tracks are made up of 92 pieces)? Is the sound module for engine sounds only or will it do machine guns, main gun, and other sounds? The smoker seems to be smoking everywhere not just out of the exhausts, whilst this looks quite dramatic, I presume they are not supposed to!? The gun elevation is not one smooth motion but in stages (with pauses), is this correct? I have a couple of broken hatch hinges - are spare parts readily avaialble?
Many thanks for any advice given.
Cheers Chris.
2025 ARMORTEK KIT SURVEY
Over the last few years we have brought out a whole series of kits as a direct result of your feedback - kits like the Pershing, JagdPanther, Hetzer, Leopard 2A4, and more recently the Sd Kfz 7, 88mm Flak 36 and the upcoming Challenger 2.
So, in keeping with what has become and annual tradition, here is your opportunity to once again influence our future production plans.
We have added in some "guide pricing" next to the names of the models. This is a rough estimate of the price at the current rates.
Thanks in advance for your input and we look forward to the results.

Re: First Armotek Tank (and second r/c model ever!).
Welcome Chris.
> Is there just the one build manual consisting of 79 pages?
There should be a contruction manual for the Tiger, plus separate instructions for the Motion Pack including the electrics, the sound, recoil and smoke.
> The track adjusters at the rear of the tank are hard up against the rear of the hull - I presume this is not normal?
Not run a TIger but it doesn't sound like it. I believe the tracks should touch down on the second or third road wheel when properly tensioned.
> Is the sound module for engine sounds only or will it do machine guns, main gun, and other sounds?
Assuming it came with a Benedini based sound system, it should do all the above, plus various voices and machinery whines.
> The smoker seems to be smoking everywhere not just out of the exhausts, whilst this looks quite dramatic, I presume they are not supposed to!?
No. Check all the plumbing is air-tight, and that the teflon washer which holds the element isn't burnt or loose.
> The gun elevation is not one smooth motion but in stages (with pauses), is this correct?
Sounds like the elevation screw is bent, or not sitting on the elevation motor gearbox shaft correctly.
> I have a couple of broken hatch hinges - are spare parts readily avaialble?
Yes, Monique will gladly supply spares, if you can identify the part numbers from the manual.
Adrian.

Re: First Armotek Tank (and second r/c model ever!).
Hi Adrian,
and thank you for your response.
Here is a photo of the Manuals I have, but they are very sparse. The motion pack manuals are just several pages and the main build manual is thicker but much of it resembles a parts catalogue - should there be one for each assembly pack (sprockets, suspension, turret etc)?
I will move the question about the track tensioners to the Tiger 1 page.
Thanks for the heads up about the sound. With your answer I have found more on the topic and can see that the Armortek module can be opened to give access to the Bendini Card (something to work on later!).
You were right about the gun elevation screw bieng bent (good call!).
The smoker I will remove and take a closer look at.
Thank again - really appreciate the help.
Ps Did we meet at Cobbaton Tank Museum a couple of months ago (with Denny Patterson)?

There's just one chapter per pack, rather than a complete manual.
Yes, we did meet at Cobbaton
Adrian.

Re: First Armotek Tank (and second r/c model ever!).
Hi Chris,
Having built a late Tiger some while ago. Yes the barrel does elevate in stages. The track adjusters sit in brass bushes up against the hull. The sound module should do all the sounds. Yes you get all the manuals.

Re: First Armotek Tank (and second r/c model ever!).
Thank you both for the additional information, very helpful. I have moved the issue of the tracks (which seem very short as compared to others!) to the Tiger 1 section. Glad to have met you Adrian and put a face to the name!
