I suppose that I ought to post any progress and photos of the 25 pounder. Although not technically a build it might be of interest to some.
My plans are to paint probably in parade bronze green and pillar box red, but I may initially depict a desert camo scheme as I have plans for an el Alamein photo shoot sometime (be a good undercoat and many examples would have had just that before being painted in parade colours)..who knows?

Re: 25 pounder...my plans.
Been polishing the 25 pounder and whilst taking the breach apart found a snapped off m3 tap deep into the barrel, that thread used to hold part of the forward breach, now I could have rang Monique and demanded a new barrel but oh no I like a challenge.
If anyone has ever tried to remove a broken tap then you know if it's not loose then it is almost impossible, and the chances are that the tap has bottomed out and snapped off tight.
Here's how I did it.
Firstly drill a suitable size hole parallel to the broken tap, just far enough away so that you don't destroy the drill bit, then with a small hard punch drive the broken tap through the new hole side wall that you have drilled , this can take a while.Remove all traces of the tap!
Then... see below.

For some reason I can't load more than one photo at a time, so here's another.
