The winch frame has no support and will only tighten up and rub against the drum, the answer is to cut to suit three thin walled tubes (Tube came from an old transmitter telescopic ariel) to slip over the M3x45 csk screws lock with 3x M3 nut then mount part EM0221 and lock with another 3x M3 nuts. This will allow clearance and free movement of the drum

Hello John,
Good mod to do, One point with using the dome top nuts, The tray that the electronics sit it which locates over the top of the winch only just clears the nuts on the winch so using this type of nut might foul on the underside of the tray.

Thanks for the info. Just finished the red oxide on the back plates will have look at the gap.

Yes, your quite right no space for the domed nuts, haven't looked at the rear tray before as need to look at the rest of the winch kit first page 23.

Studs fitted to hubs instead of set screws. Gearbox run in gently, axles, couplings and hubs all greased. Replaced where possible a lot of hex and cheese head fasteners with stainless button heads, which looks a bit more in keeping. Made a couple rubber seals to close up the big holes at the ends of the steering axle to keep dirt out. Didn't fit the diff half shaft springs that are supposed to keep pressure on the steering hubs. There's not enough movement in the shafts for them to become disconnected.
