Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi all . I think I can supply pictures now . I have never been real picture taking crazy , so I did not take any at the beginning . Sorry for that . I know you all already known the excitment of the boxes arriving ! As I said mine is an out of the box build for now . I had all of the usual small fitment issues as most others , but for me that is all part of the fun . if this works , I will post more . Steve .

Hi Steve.
Looks like your pictures are working - though they are quite large when opened up
Good to see another recent Tiger joining the ranks here

Hi Adrian . Thanks for the heads up on the picture size . I will try to school myself and rectify that . I think I read that 800 BY 600 IS optimal . Steve .

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi all . Posting a few more pics , to catch up to where I am at on the build . I think I have them sized properly now . The color is Testors afrika yellow as I was unable to get dark yellow from a source I trusted . I believe since it is model paint and probably not very uv resistant , it will likely fade in the sunlight . I also plan a blocky red/brown dark green camo pattern . Even though I'm not detailing to the same degree as other builds , there is much more to do . FUN !

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi Steve,
I found I had to take out 5 links from the recommended 98 links in the build manual, backed the adj right off so have plenty of adj to take up should the need arise. I have run the Tiger and tracks seemed about right. I think the correct adj is the track should rest on the top of the 3rd wheel back from the front.
As a matter of interest how are you going to turn the power on/off when the deck is in place as I notice the power supply module is under the deck ?
Dennis.

Hi Dennis
Your Tiger looks great,I like the colour and your neat arrangement in the Hull
RE Fading Paint
I have a Tamia Tiger1 that I built a while ago,painted in Tamia XF-60 Dark Yellow.
It sat on my Dining Room Table/work bench in direct sunlight and the Dark Yellow
faded to a light grey, where the sun was full on.
Do you think if I had have sealed it with some Kleer or purity seal,it would still
have faded
Cheers
Phil

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi Dennis and Phil . On the track links I started with 97 had to remove 4 that put it where it needed to be after running it with batteries and motion pack installed . on the on switch , I plan to make a remote push button using a bicycle brake cable . will post pic when completed . Also plan remote volume control using flexible tubing attached to the volume knob . On paint fade . probably still fade some with clear coat as automotive paint fades to some degree , and they have been base coat/clear coat for some time . Here are 5 more pics I meant to post last time as I did not know of the 10 attachment limit .

Hi Steve
Good idea about the remote start switch, will be interesting to see how it is hidden or disguised from outside.
I think you forgot that you were looking at Dennis's pictures and you were still
inside there when you posted your pictures instead of going back to your Tiger
postings
Cheers

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi Steve!
You have it right with the batteries - plenty - that's a good start! The tiger is looking very good and don't worry about the details - you can add what you want during a lifetime. That's the good thing with these models, whether you're into the engineering aspect, electronics, artistics or historic accuracy, there is something for everyone. Just do what you like now and add what you like later.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
/Chris

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi Steve,
That's why I put my Amp module and Power supply at the back so switch and vol control are accessible through rear hatches. I have in the past on my Panzer extended the on/off swtich but you have to be handy with a soldering iron.

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi Christoffer . I wanted to get as much battery fitted as I could , for run time . I do not know how much I'll get yet as I have not did a full charge and complete run down .I know that heating element uses a lot of amps . As far as detailing goes , my tank will always be a work in progress .And fun to the end . thanks for the comments . Steve .

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi Dennis . I am skilled with a soldering iron and did consider modifying the module , but really did not want to alter it for fear of messing it up and voiding any warranty that may apply . And I really wanted the speakers under the grills . I tried several lay outs , and this is what I decided on for now . I do appreciate your suggestions and comments . Thanks , Steve .

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi all . These are the last 5 pics I have for now . These bring photos up to where I'm at on the build . The cables have been aged by soaking in vinegar as I read somewhere here on the forum . Thanks everyone , Steve .

Re: Tiger I 2012 037 build
Hi all . Here are a few more pics . Two show my remote start button . Nothing fancy , just made of bits and pieces from around the garage .But it works as intended . The others show alternate motorvation I was contemplating . That's all for now . Cheers/Steve .
