Be very careful when bench-testing the main motors - they have so much torque you could end up floor-testing
them, or even worse, toe-testing them.

Adrian.

Main Motors

Post by Armortek »

Allan

The new motors are from a UK company called EMD. They are very similar to the Parvalux motor in terms of build quality, but offer an improved power output and are fitted with a more robust and easier to mount gearbox. It also gives us the flexibility of being able to source motors from more than one supplier.

Hello Allan . I have started to plug my motion pack together all looks straight foward so far . One thing with the new motors is that there are no support bracket under the motors . So I will fill the eight holes in the bottom plate . Dale.

At 12.30 pm today . I turned on my motion pack for the first time . Everything worked perfectly . I'm hopeless with R/C stuff . I checked everything five times before I switched it on . The pressure was on when I pushed the red button for the first time . So if I can do it anyone can. Whilst I had the motors out on the bench I thought I would see If the new motors and gear boxes would fit my Sherman . They don't as the sherman front gear houseing hits the top of the gear box . Mark,

Thanks for the reply, more than one supplier is always a good thing.

Dale,

I'm glad you got your motion pack working first time. Always a good thing, I'm fitting the motion pack in my Sherman at present but need to buy a radio receiver before I can test it out. It is straight forward if you approach the installation in a logical way.
