Tim,
Getting the tracks on is a really big day - even if its only temporary. I remember the day I put tracks on my panther. It felt like wow that is a real tank now! The tracks are a very impressive part of the kit. I wish the late T1 tracks had the ice cleats on them but none the less are very cool. Your Tiger looks great. Are you going to add zimmerit? I can't wait to see your camo scheme.

Thanks for support compare to what’s on here it will be a pretty basic build at this stage.
Are you going to add zimmerit? Yes but it is a long way off.
Upon talking with Dale and Rick I want to get the tracks on and roll it on the ground then put the motors in and work it a bit more. I have a little test, I want to run over a small item (Dale you will know what it is) and film it.
Then pull off the wheels and track and do the welds on the hull and then zimmerit.
As with everything there are always funny stories when I put the hatches on the deck ages ago a few "so called experts" in the modeling game 1/32 scale saw it said nothing
Then Rick Jensen calls in as soon as he saw it he said the hatches arm were on the wrong way. I could write a book on my mistakes.

Jim and Bob your right in saying that it is a great experience when those tracks go on. Mark my hat off to you for making these beasts!
So the Right hand tracks are on "praise the lord" and she has been put on the floor!

Tim,
The tiger hull even bare bones is impressive. I can't wait till mine is that far along <that may be when I retire -20yrs from now>

I think its a great idea to put the electronics in and drive it around a bit now. Wish I would have done that with the Panther - instead of waiting till the outside is finished 2 years later. I got to see Tim Bowman's Panther driving around that inspired me for a year!

Nothing could motivate one more to finish it than taking it for a spin.

Keep us posted!

Bob

After getting the beast on the ground we stated to roll it backwards and forwards it was running so good we ended up further apart and shoving with our foot like a bazaar game of soccer.
Then I tried to take one or so links out a side then it went all down hill from their.
The track felt a bit loose but take one out to tight, so for the last few hours I have been adjusting track length, found the front sprocket wasn't tighten up in the right place, found some of the axle end caps were a bit loose lucky I can adjust them thru the Hub cap.
To be honest it’s been great learning a lot.
It’s running 95 links driver side and 94 on the other
Next week time permitting I would like to get the engines in and run it.
The panthers you 2 boys have got are unreal I look at them and just go wow. If I get my tiger 1/2 as good I'll be happy.
But for now I want to get this beast / hull running.

Looks great Tim .. It was good talking to you the other day .. I think it's time to fill the bolt holes in the hull and add some welds ... Then you can start to add all the detail parts ... Dale

Great job on the build so far Tim. That internal layout looks really tidy. I can't believe how much room there is inside these Tigers.

I've just noticed you've said "It’s running 95 links driver side and 94 on the other" earlier in the thread.

I'd be interested to know if that makes it slew slightly as it's driving in a straight line :?:

Adrian.
