I worked on this rear vent yesterday. using 10BA bolts on the top ring and 7BA bolts used to fix it to the deck.
I used a small wire mesh and soldered it to the ring.
The 10BA bolts fixed it to the vent with help from a two-part glue.
The ring i made on the lathe out of a washer.
Simon,
The vent and rear deck look superb. Really well done. Your KT is going to be really impressive. It looks as big as the car next to it in the garage!

Simmon,
REALLY excellent details my friend! Your efforts are paying off! Wow! I really like the light grey primer as the details are clearly visible. Really impressive model.

Simon, the finish on those exhausts is fantastic, you can almost smell the heat, and with just the right amount of paint showing through,
regards
Jeff
I can not make the open day, as I will be working at the London Arms Fair this weekend,
I must say your finishing looks superb. The shot across the rear deck looks like a real tank. I've used rust paint myself before which I found quite difficult to use toget a realistic finish like you have.
I think there are 11 smaller deck hooks on the King Tiger, 3 on the front hatch plate and 4 on each side of the 2 round vents on the rear deck.
Gill at Armortek supplied me with Jadgpanther engine cover deck hooks, which are the right scale-being slightly smaller than the main hooks supplied with the kit.
