Hi all
I have finally finished the dirtying up process for the 17 PDR. I used a mixture of acrylic paints, enamel washes, various earth pigments and finally a dust layer using Sansodor and a dust oil paint.
I am now working on making the straps look old and used but the Grosgrain material is not good at accepting other colours, so its a work in progress while I experiment.
Thought I add some photos of the gun so far then add a final couple of photos when all the stowage has been added.
Regards
Gary

Hi all
As promised here are some photos of the completed 17 PDR. The limber is next once I make some headway on the Churchill.
Thanks to Armortek for a great kit and to Armorpax for the brilliant detailing parts.
Tiny, I hope you like the result

Hi Gary
All I can say mate is LOL I now have two workshops and still not enough room.
We have a 25 Pounder and limber for the little fella to fix up I think he is old enough now to have a go on his own with a little help from me.
All being well were also hoping to get back into the 251 next week.
Happy building bud.

Re: Gary's 17 Pounder
Hi all
I have completed the limber that goes with my 17 PDR. I wanted it to have the same level of dirtying up as the gun so here is the result.
For those interested in the paints used:
Top coat Mike Starmer Tamiya acrylic SSC15 mix : 5 parts XF58 -1 part XF81 - 1 part XF71
Rust effects using MIG Ammo Shadow Rust
Dirt effects using MIG Europe Earth and Dark Earth in various consistencies and a pigment fixer.
Dust effects using 502 Abteilung Dust oil paint thinned with Sansodor thinners. This must be very well thinned so when it evaporates a very fine dust layer is left which naturally pools around rivet heads etc.
I will be adding some stowage and possibly some more lashing points at the front so I can have a canvas cover over the tool tray.
Once again thanks to Armortek for a great model , Dave Dibbs for the bling and Chris for selling me the limber.
Regards
