Hi All,
I have not posted any updates on my Tiger for a while due to being fully occupied on a training course at work, Well thats now completed and its back to full production

.
Heres a couple of shots of the rear plate with variouse mods and additions added plus a shot of my modified rear mud gaurds.

This seems to be the new way to build our kits , thanks to Tim and the way Steve is doing his in these photos . With the older armortek tiger's, there was so much time taken up with torsion bar blocks , setting up the suspension and modifiying spacers wheels and bearing . Now with the new kits and the single torsion bars down each side to keep the hull squarie ,we can now just build the lower hull complety and even paint before we add the running gear . Steve,

A nice looking build with lots of detail. The welds look really good. As Anthony says the builds now sem to concentrate on the scale accuracy much more than with the first batch of Tigers where everyone was concentrating on the engineering. I guess they are well sorted now and do run like Swiss watches when set up right. I woldn't mind betting that htis site is one of the best font's of knowledge on the Tiger with all the research contributions. When working at 1/6th scale accuracy and functionality are much more important than with 1/35.

Hi Steve:

Your Tiger is looking outstanding. I have a question - is the hitch on the back a Armortek part? I have a very early kit and it have a very plain hitch. I and have been looking for a hitch like the one you have pictured. I know Vince us to make them but not anymore. Did you make it yourself?

Are the small bolted plates on the bottom of the hull included or did you make those? Likewise the hitch? Great looking details!

Thanks all for the positive comments, to answere your questions:-
1, The tow hitch is the one supplied with the kit, all i did was add the lower section and blend it in with some filler. note the attachment bolts are put in the opposite way round to the instructions.
2,The rectangular plate on the bottom of the hull was made out of some sheet steel, the attachment bolt pattern is not quite correct as i decided to pick up some of the existing holes from the supplied round access panel.

The other major item that i changed was the mudguards and their mounts, these are supplied as early/mid versions and are not correct for a late Tiger. To change them i found some steel door hinges of the correct size at my local hardware store, cut them ot shape and brazed them to the supplied mudgaurd. I then cut new ribs and brazed these in position. the fixed parts of the hinges are again from the same door hinges, cut to shape and bolted to the rear plate.

Next job is the zimmerit

And nice move to change that round plate to the for Late Tigers accurate square one.

One minor thing...
The rear mudguards was not mirrored but made the same due to simplify production. So the holes were the same on both sides.

An easy but well visible change - go for it!
