3D printed parts - Commander plate

Hello tankers,

First, I introduce myself.. I am Stephane (51 yo) from Switzerland and owner of my first Armortek model : M26 Pershing since March 2024. I am a fan of ww2 and all the vehicles we can remontly controlled. If there are other tank enthusiasts near me with whom we can share our passion, do not hesitate to contact me.

After enjoying many of your posts on the forum, here is my first contribution.
I am still finalizing and detailing my Pershing and I am working on the positioning of my figurines. My commander is a 3D printed powered by 6 micros servos (animatronics). I bought it on cults3d.com (https://cults3d.com/fr/mod%C3%A8le-3d/d ... -figure-v2)

For its positioning in the turret, I modeled a plate that I printed in 3D. It is fixed from the inside using existing 3x40 screws which secure the upper part of the commander hatch.

• The round central part allows to fix the figurine on the plate with 4 3x8 screws.
  The lower servo passes through. The plate is fixed from the interior of the turret with the original screw in 3 places (3 times 2 screws). It is sufficient and very stable.

Purists would have made the part in aluminum but I am more comfortable with 3D modeling and printing

I am ready to share the stl file for those of you who may be interested.
I also did some other 3D printed parts for the pilot support, switch pannel I can share as well.

I 3D printed figures for one of my 1/6 scale Sherman tanks and I use 1/6 scale action figures for my 1/6 Armortek Pershing.

Coincidentally I made a "floor" for the Pershing turret so the figures can stand propped out of the hatch. Worked well except that I had to remove them to put the turret back on so I could align the screws with the turret holes. Reinstalling them with turret attached was painful but I got it done.

I agree that since the turret is heavy, the handling is quite complicated.

I am still working in the automation of my figurines. Still remains the rotation and the tilting forward and backward and program everything in an ATmega328P

Looks great! I see you made "FIREBALL", nice details. I did Sgt Nicholas Mashlonik's Pershing E-12, of the 33rd Armored Regiment 3rd Armored Division.

I like the animation too, looks very realistic. I may need to download the files for a future project. Thanks for sharing.
