Could anyone help me with the installation of the Benedini rotary encoder switch into a 7C Futaba transmitter? The switch comes supplied with a standard rx connection but I can't see how to get to the appropriate input leads on the tx. The photos below show the encoder and the right hand stick pots. It looks like there is a white coloured plug attached to the pot on the stick but I can't see how to get at it and establish whether it's the correct lead.
Someone must have done it - please help an electronics dummy.
Thanks. Stephen

Hi Stephen,
The servo connector from the rotaty encoder has to be plugged into a free proportional channel on your TX. A switch (on/off or on/off/on)channel will not work.
I am not really familiar with the 7C, so I don't know if there is a free channel available. If not, you may have to sacrifice one of the 4 channels connected to your joysticks.
Good luck.

Hello Stephen
Caution .This is a digital Transmitter and is different to the Mhz set.I have been told that you have to unsolder the rotary switch and solder the encoder onto it. I havent done it yet but i know who has. John Davis has done it to all of his tanks.
When you have done it you have to reprogram the sound card to recognise it and then reprogram it again to put your sounds on it

Hi Stephen
If you PM me you email address, I have photos of each step which I can send you. If you need a narrative as well, I'll do my best.
I am planning to post a "How to" for the decoder installation on the forum, but I'm afraid work keeps getting in the way
Cheers
Mick

I have personally given up hope that politicians who never experienced war first hand will ever realise that war is the worst of all possible alternatives.

Ad - yes, I was referring to the y axis on the right hand stick which I currently use for sound. The rotary switch is an easier interface than trying to count stick displacements. Lee - thanks for the steer to John. I've also asked Thomas if he's had any info. I'll post any reply I get.
Regards
Stephen
