Good morning,
has anyone dealt with the batteries? Number of AH and dimensions?
Where will the suitable location of the batteries be?
Location for speed controller and sound module?
Technical layout?

Hi Rolf,

first question would be which kind of batteries you will use. Lead acid (2 x 12 V)? LiFePO4 (2 x 12,8 V)? LiFePO4 single cells (8 x 3,2V)? Some batteries / cells may not be used when lying on the ground; they like standing upright. Single cells may be placed seperately all over the hull and so on. So there are many possibilities for placing batteries.

My models in 'Leopard size' (e.g. Königstiger, Jagdtiger) are equipped with 36 to 40 Ah for long field missions (one day without recharging). Display models need far less capacities.

Another point is the 'load arrangement' in the hull for the right centre of gravity. The motors are in the front side of the hull and the ESC should be placed near them; therefore the batteries may be placed in the rear partition. But also some of the other components (e.g. loudspeaker(s)) need the right position to work properly.

Imho it's a good idea to place all requested components temporarily in the hull to see in which combination they will fit best. If a gun recoil is intended to mount there must be also the necessary space in the turret region of the hull when firing the gun in upmost position.

I have designed and fitted a 24v 52ah lifepo4 pack to fit in the leopard using 8x 3.2v eve prismatic cells.
It’s probable overkill for most, but we will be heavy and running a lot so it should be good for me.
Its low profile works great for me.

Thank you very much for your opinion. I haven't received any electronic parts from ARMORTEK yet, so I can't make any plans. I also have no idea what the parts look like or their dimensions.

After I got the option of electrical parts from ARMORTEK and now know what was included in the options, I have a question for the community:

1. Where and how should the speakers be mounted?

2. Regarding the toothed belt on the drive: there is a trick to pulling the belt on. It is too tight.

3. Is it possible to install additional electrical parts/motor/lamps in the tower? I mean the slip ring.

I hope the translation is understandable. I would like to receive an answer with photos.

Rolf,

1. speakers towards the back as the rear deck has vent holes and will let the sound out

2. there is a tensioning bearing so the belt should go on easy then get tightened. I cant say 100% as I dont use this system in mine.

3 . Yes additional parts can go in the turret but you will need a slip ring with more wires or you will need to do some carful thinking. Ie a separate receiver and battery in the turret will allow a lot of additional functions without changing the stock wiring.

In the Panther instructions, it says to only mount the motor with the front bolt at first.

Then rotate the motor and plate to reduce the gap to the front pulley.

Install the belt between the two pulleys.

Then rotate the motor and the plate back to the final position and fit and tighten all the fixing bolts.

Hello,
Here are a couple pics of the way I layed out my electronics.
The batteries and speakers are held in place with 10lb velcro strips.
Everything else is held in place with 3 lb velcro.
The battery disconnect plug and battery charging lead will be accessable from the left hand rear access door on the deck place.
The volume control, smoke on/off switch, electronics on/off switch and receiver will accessable from the right hand rear access door on the deck plate.
The smoke refill tubes will be accessable from the small access door directly above them on the rear deck plate.

If possible , can any of you also share the layout of the turret's interior?

I knew the recoil pack is not ready yet. Wonder if the slip ring (of course with parts ,fasteners , etc) are included in?

I installed the belts with a bit of brute force.

It seems that the slip ring for the tower has an extra 24V blank cable.

I will try to install a second floor above the motors/smoke module for the speakers, which will then be directly under the ventilation openings.
