Fellow Tiger 1 builder’s,
Apologies if this is a redundant question.
Looking over the blueprints and building instructions for my early Tiger, I see that AT recommended LocTite for applying the rubber “tires” to the rims / wheel disks.
I was thinking of using super glue. Any thoughts on this process, or is LocTite the way to go?
Thanks,
Bryan

Re: Rubber wheels
The 480 appears to be specifically made for bonding rubber to metal. It’s what I’ll be using on mine.

Re: Rubber wheels
Be advised the glue is very messy and sets instantly.
I highly recommend nitrile gloves and masking tape.
Good luck!

Re: Rubber wheels
I have just used the alternative slow cure 2 part epoxy on the tyres of my Panther G.
No mess and plenty of time for adjustment.

Re: Rubber wheels
Thanks for the heads up on the 480 Brian,
Malcom, what’s the alternative you’ve been using?

Re: Rubber wheels
Hi Bryan
UHU plus Endfast 300 is the epoxy that I have used.

Seems to be easily available over where I am but not sure about the US.

Re: Rubber wheels
I found it best to smear glue onto the rim even amount all the way around , No glue 3mm in from the outer edge , but up to the flange but not on the flange , so when you push the tyre on some glue will push up the flange Should only be a small amount which can be wipe off from behind Dale
