Now my Centurion is for sale. For my model I would like to have 35000 Euro. The price is without transmitter and receiver. The model must also be picked up from me in southern Germany.

Rimy, I’ve always refrained from commenting on asking prices - it’s a long standing convention on this Forum which benefits everyone. Some thoughts are best kept private.

Frank’s Centurion dozer is unique in a number of respects. The drive train, dozer blade and not least his exceptionally detailed and accurate engine installation. There are only two Centurion searchlights like that in existence.

The best museum quality models command premium prices, the few unique and exceptional models are very rare and attractive to collectors. All Armortek models are valuable not least because of their limited availability. The very best ones can name their price. There are plenty of precedents.

Who ever purchases this model doesn't just get an excellent Armortek model but an engineering master piece.
The historical build is well documented and displays how much energy and technical brilliance has been put into this model.

It would be not be difficult to quantify the actual cost of the material going into the model. What is difficult to measure is the time (years), the technical planning, the accurate construction and the brillance of putting the unique model together.

Armortek supply fantastic models, are reasonably easy to put together out of the box. With a decent build if you line them up and take two steps back they'll look pretty good in comparison.

This model is one those few where taking two steps forward brings you to a completely different model.
And that's what your paying for.

I would only disagree with Stephen on one aspect.
This model is far better than museum quality.

I'm really sorry to read this, having seen, and greatly admired, your Centurion at TankFest this year. I can't imagine why you'd want to sell it - it would break my heart . I hope you achieve whatever you're happy with.

But, if you want to get some return on all your hard work, can I make a suggestion ? What about selling your wonderful Meteor engine design ? I'd happily pay €1,000 for that, and there are probably others out there who would think the same. You might even make your target figure - and still have your 47 year old love !

Many thanks for your kind words und your offer.
My problem is: When I print Meteor parts for other peoples, I need maybe 8 or 10 weeks. So I have no time for my projects. I hope you can understand it.

Another alternative would be to just sell the STL files, but that would run the risk of you losing control of your intellectual property. Or you could sell the design to someone like Shapeways, retain the copyright, and get a return on each sale ? If the idea attracts you there are a range of possibilities. But it’s important to protect all the good work you’ve done.
