Hi, Guys
Been awhile since posting, so here goes! I have been using baby oil to fill my smoker, but feel that it does not look that good. I have seen people say that they have a 50/50 baby oil and BBQ fuel, is that safe and what does it add to the effect or is it best to stick with the baby oil?
Look forward to your responses
Del.

Re: What type of Smoker fuel?
I think most people start off with Baby Oil.
I've seen lamp oil used to good effect, and liquid parafin.
There's also been discussions on using vape fluid, either commercially bought or home made.
The latter means you can tune the mixture but I've not had time to do much in that vein.
Not sure what you mean about BBQ fuel. If you mean the lighting fluid, I would have thought that was too flammable to be suitable.

Good to hear from you! It is indeed BBQ lighter fuel which kind of concerned me, not being a smoker never thought about vapour fluid, the issue with vapour fluid is what flavour do I get?
Cheers Del

Basic vape fluid is just a mix of glycol and glycerine, so easy to roll your own.
If you want it to smell of cinnamon then that's up to you

Re: What type of Smoker fuel?
Allan, there's nothing magical about vape fuel, if you roll your own. It's expensive if you buy it commercially but its dead easy to make. You can buy Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG) on a well known auction site. The mix isn't critical but I use 30% PG, 70% VG. No cinnamon.....
I use in both in my barrel smoker (which uses a vape box) and in my hull smoker which is standard Armortek. Both work very well indeed. The vape box must burn much cooler because 5ml lasts all day whereas in the hull smoker, 10ml refills need replenishing after a couple of runs.
