Hi Guys
Finally got round to starting the Universal Carrier kit.
At the moment just cleaning panels and priming the steel ready.
I was wondering though what solution people have come up with for mounting the speaker
as there is no mention of it in the instructions and no obvious mounting hardware that I have found yet?
Thanks
Derek

Re: Speaker mounting
Hi Derek
I have just used a simple L shaped bracket and mounted the speaker under the grill in the engine cover

Re: Speaker mounting
My father also had problems finding where to mount the loudspeaker on the RR armoured car and not wanting to do something wrong then enquired by Armortek.
The answer he recieved from them, which may also be applicable to the Universal Carrier, was that there was no specific mounting point or bracket. Just use the magnet on the speaker to stick it against a steel panel of his choice. Wherever it fitted in best with his wiring layout and gave for him the best acoustics.

Re: Speaker mounting
Each speaker needs some case around it to avoid a so called acoustic short cut. Without a case the lower frequencies are damped down.
kind regards
Gerhard

Re: Speaker mounting
Hi Guys
In the end I 3d printed a mount before I retireed and hung the speaker under the grill at the rear fo the centre housing . No pictures I am afraid but my running gear set up is completely different to the original design.
I have 2 motors and a 12 volt battery under the centre housing and cut an access panel in the main floor to install the 12v battery. I made my own cover plate from 3mm anodized aluminium plate I had in stock at the time.
Hope this helps
Regards
