Hello,
has someone of you experience and can tell me how much of "Custom duties" / "Zollgebühren" must be payed for an Armorten-Kit (as example round about 4000€) to Germany ?
Thanks in advance
Bernd

Re: Germany Zollgebühren Custom duties
I can't say for going to Germany but coming into the UK there is no customs charge if the parcel is marked with Commodity Code 9503003000, which covers "reduced-size (scale) model assembly kits". There will still be a VAT charge.

Re: Germany Zollgebühren Custom duties
Hello Bernd,
this question has also crossed my mind.
I haven't ordered anything from the UK yet, but I think that since a trade agreement has been concluded, it looks that there is a "Zollbegünstigung" for UK and only "Einfuhrumsatzsteuer" and possibly "Verbrauchsteuer" (wine, tobacco, etc. ....) have to be paid. Another point that needs special attention now is the correct declaration of the goods and the new customs forms.
If you want to dig deeper here are two links:

Yeah, I thought we were all part of GATT free trade, but the Swedish customs office was to no help in that sense. Oh, well, they did disclose the entire Brexit agreement...
VAT applies, at the minimum. Special taxes also, for the luxury items mentioned. Don't know how AFV models are classified, but "basic, commodity, very basic, necessary needs" would make sense.

A little too much is about right...

Hello and thanks for you answers.
The shipping costs must be added to the price and so, like the calculator it means round about 1000-1400€ as vat.
Than he kit will be cost nearly 25% more, than in priceing.
Thanks a lot.
Bernd

Re: Germany Zollgebühren Custom duties
There is a bit of misinformation and misunderstanding.
As we have posted a few times on the forum - THERE IS NO IMPORT DUTY (CUSTOMS DUTY) ON ARMORTEK KITS.
see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7419&start=15
You will however have to pay your LOCAL VAT rate - for Germany this is 19%
But you then do not pay UK VAT, so in effect you have SAVED 1%
Unfortunately UPS will charge for clearing customs, so you will have to pay their fee - so in effect you will not save anything. But to say that the kits are now 25% more expensive is wrong.
If this is not clear, then feel free to send us an email.

Hello Armortek,

I hadn't seen the other thread.
@ Bernd
In March I had come to a similar conclusion as you, but in the meantime the informations has been updated, fortunately it is not like that.
So happy tank shopping ...

Re: Germany Zollgebühren Custom duties
Hello everybody,
So, on this subject, I have bought a great deal of spare parts for my new build Jagdpanther this year from Armortek for delivery to France and it is quite correct, one only has to pay the VAT applicable to the country of delivery plus the UPS admin charge of around 15 euros. However, if one has a UPS account and are registered online, then according to their terms and conditions, this fee should not be levied. But it is and no amount of arguing with the UPS call centre will change this. Whatever, 15 euros on a kit costing @5000 - it's no big deal!!
Happy building now the autumn is here and winter approaches...
