Hi all it’s been a while since I finished my 25 pounder, and was looking for a project, and acquired a built example, this has been dismantled, and my aim is to make as many functional parts out of brass steel and alloy, and of course plenty of fun.
Started on the slide, not sure if this model came with recoil, as It did not come with any assembly instructions, recoil made and the front stop plate altered and now secured with working side bolts Regards Jeff

Replaced the kit part for the barrel lock, with a more prototypical part, multi piece silver soldered together, still covered in fire scale and loosely fitted, will clean and rivet tomorrow Regards Jeff

Hi does anyone know how the firing mechanism worked on the Pak 43/41, there is very little detail that I can find, I know the firing button was on the centre of the left hand elevation wheel, but cannot see how it activated the firing pin

Started some work on the breech block, would have loved to be able to open the breech using the handle in a clockwise half turn, that’s not going to happen, so plan B, there is very little information on the workings of the breech, I assume the long cylinder on the left is for self cocking or locking as the front pawl engages with a pin, I am making what I think it should be, and have positioned it so I can still use the breech handle, this is how far I got today Regards Jeff

Bit more done today, reduced the width of the barrel collar by 7mm and altered the side lugs, right hand side narrower and left hand side larger to take the pivot arm, gun looks a mess at the moment, but will wait till all is working to put right Regards Jeff

Bit more done today, the bits are not hard to make, what takes the time in insuring all the bits end up in the right place, recoil now looks good with the pivot arm running along the beam, still work to do on beam with fixings and arm stop Regards Jeff

Only had an hour this evening, but now have the assembly instructions, started on page 1 with the wheels, got rid of the Allen key bolts and replaced with 6ba, castellated the nuts on to the next wheel Regards Jeff

Added the bolt details to the brake drums Regards Jeff

This will be another stunning model once you work your magic. Lovely details Jeff!

While waiting for some brass to arrive, I had a go at making the foot release bolt for the trail arm, working ok just need to make the foot pedal Regards Jeff

Remade the sprung locking bolts for the trails and added the foot release pedal, used a 12 inch figure to check the dimensions looked right and they were working Regards Jeff

Bit more detail added, have shown a before and after picture, as I am sure a lot of the details are meaningless unless you have a 43/41 Regards Jeff
