Hi everyone
At long last I have finally found the time to start my 251 build.
Before I start I have to thank my dear friend and unsung hero of our forum Stephen white for help and advice on some gaps in my research.
Also my dear friend Phil woollard for all his time and help in teaching me the pain of the TX and RX
.
And lastly Lee archer of Panzerwrecks for his help in sending me some unpublished photos of the interior of the 251/8 free of charge a true gentleman.

Nice to see another 251 build.
The 251/8 is a good choice for a riveted ausf.C
Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim ,Florian.
Thank you for the lovely comments.
Tim I had planed this build 251/8 some 6 years ago sadly health issues had me put it on the back burner along with some of my other models.
Florian I followed your 251/9 with great interest and will certainly use it for reference as I go along.
Take care and stay safe
Best Regards
Steve

Hi Steve, do you have anything special in mind for this build?
TBH, I have been wanting a 251 for ages and unfortunately never found an Armortek 251kit for sale when i had the money or the space.
I have just picked up a 251/1 ausf.C (Not Armortek) for £500 last weekend. It is a runner with sound and smoke etc but needs work to tidy it up and then add some detail.
I appreciate it for what it is and it obviously cannot compare to the Armortek quality that i am used to but it was cheap and should look pretty good and from what ive heard they do run quite well.
All i can say is that i will appreciate working on an Armortek even more now.
I guess my 251 itch is now getting scratched.
Good luck with your build.
Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim
It was always going to be the 251/8 ambulance.
Reference material of the inside is very sparse I do have a conversion kit for the Tamiya 251/1 to make it into an /8.
Like you its been an itch mine for a long time I'm lucky enough to be able scratch it I do hope your lucky enough to get an Armortek one as its a fantastic kit to work on.
Never got into the workshop yesterday or today children and fencing got in the way but tomorrow is a new day.
Stay safe best regards
Steve

Bit more done today in the workshop.
This is one of those kits that benefits from painting as you go and touch up afterwards.
Take care all and stay safe.
Best regards
Steve

Good evening guys
Managed to get a bit more done in the workshop today.
This is coming together nicely not much in the way of problems that could not be easily fixed.
Take care and keep safe

Progress so far.
After fitting all the running gear and ready to set the suspension angle I realised I had made a school boy error DOH.
I should have set the angle before fitted the running gear so the wheels off one side and the angle set.
The set angle should be 15 degrees i have set it at 16 to allow for bedding in.
They say every day is a school day today was a bad one,
Take care and stay safe all.

Not a great deal done this past week had some family time with my wee lads Shorty and Tiny doing boy things.
I fitted the front tyres thank goodness once again for the arbour press made pressing the tyres on a piece of cake.
Tracks made and fitted then a dry run on blocks.
One of the tracks kept running off its sprocket and stopping in both directions
After a check over there was an alinement problem so in true Armortek fashion tracks on tracks off to coin the phrase then strip it all apart again and start from the beginning.
It could have been a lot worse it could have been both sides.
Take care all and stay safe

Good evening gents
Well not a great deal done over the past few weeks unfortunately i had to don my old builders hard hat so the 251 had to take second place.
Starting to get a bit of time now so this week I have been dry fitting parts to see how best to proceed with any upgrading.
Here are a few photos of what I have done so far.
Keep well everyone and stay safe.
