Re: Smokin' out the office
Well done, indeed!
There exists a real firing machine gun in 1/6 scale (with blank cartridges, of course), which acts not better than this proof of concept.

Wow looks and sounds great. I was thinking engine smoke! The puff-puff-puff effect would be good for engine as well. Very cool!

Re: Smokin' out the office
Thanks for all the feedback.
Plan is that once we have proved this out and made sure it can used effectively and reliably and that we can actually "productionise" it, we will copy some of the design to the barrel smoke. First things first though and we will focus on getting this part fully proved out.

Re: Smokin' out the office
Just a quick note that in WW2 most ammunition was smokeless so i would have thought that the visual effect in 1:6 scale would be almost invisible.
Nice effect for an American Civil War Gatling gun though.
Cheers

Re: Smokin' out the office
Here's another perspective on the MG42. When the cyclic rate of the weapon is as high as this one is there's bound to be smoke...
MG42
I've done a fair amount of target shooting over the years up to and including a Lathis 20mm anti tank rifle (essentially 2cm FlaK round) and for the most part smokeless powder is fairly smoke free for most rounds but there's still some. I think a realistic smoke generator for main and machine guns would be rather cool. Good job Kian.
