Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Hi,
last days I printed some details for the engine compartment. I think it was for the cooling and ventsystem.
Sidewall left with dryfitted parts.
The complete compartment, looks good, but not much space around.
Then I decited to print new airfilters because there are some issues and the parts are very thick.
This is the firewall behind the fighting compartment with some details like bars and connectors.
First paint on the engine.
More paint and some decent weathering...
And this is all you can see through the hatch (and the pipes are still missing yet...)
regards

Hi Sascha,
Like the 3D printed engine air filter details. Are these 4 handles printed too or metal parts added later on ?
Best regards,
Lerh Chang

Hi,
no the Handles are from 1mm brass. It is possible to print, but you need support structure there. And then is the risk much higher to break the handles while remove the supports.

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Hello,
not much time at the Moment, my exams started. A small progress today, I revised the backdoors. The handles are new, bit smaller grip and bigger centerpart. The original Bolts run through the backdoors and this is visible on the outside. So I drilled the new holes and make new 3mm bolts. The stop bolt is also new, it is visible on a few pics from 331 in the states. My first sealing try was wrong, I wait for smaller rivets to make it new.

Stunning upgrade ! Are these replaced tube threaded ? Any reason not using stock's pins?

I’d be really interested in more information on how you are making this work and what parts you have used.Sascha Hornbach wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 7:46 pmI must be completely mad After a long building Weekend the new gun elevation is ready. A few parts could be recycled, but a lot are new. The elevation is now beside the mounting, to get space for the recoil stuff. All moving parts are a bit stronger now, to absorb the forces better. To lead the recoil mechanism I use a rail for 3D Printers or CNC machines. I also modified the Cylinder to get the exact length of 145mm recoil way later. Hope this works.... In pic 3 you can see the Compressor, the Airtank and the 2/3 way Valve.

Also I can see how to get 100mm recoil but 140 is very impressive.
I was going to use a servo with a linear slide but this setup with co2 interests me a lot.

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Small update today, not much time to build at the moment. I replaced the M2 Nuts (now castlenuts) on the frontatches and commanders hatch and started to solder the loops (they used it to fix camo mesh and other camo materials). Such small things to solder is very hard. I need few times to get some usable results.
