20 Tonne jack King Tiger/Jagdtiger/Panther

Post by mark lawson »

Since summer I have been working on a 20 tonne jack and have created the most accurate metal jack to date, this will be available in 20 tonne long for King Tiger, Jagdtiger, Tiger I, Elefant and 20 tonne short for Panther A and G. As always with my parts I have spent long hours researching to gain the most accurate details and scale proportions.

Each jack has the correct body length with the correct base and step on the rear, the handle can be folded away as the original, and will have grab handles in the appropriate places some versions only have x1 handle others have x2 handles, even weld lines are provided in the appropriate locations.

Assembly of these jacks is riveted as the original, no screws are used to hold the body together thus assembly is time consuming but completely accurate.

This is what the jack looks like fitted on the rear of a Tiger I, I used the master for this picture

I will only be taking batch orders only on these jacks owing to the length of time it takes for the castings and assembly

Price
W5-21L, 20 Tonne jack long Tiger, King Tiger, Jagdtiger and Elefant £85
W5-21S, 20 Tonne jack short (Panther) £85

Very, very nice.

I remember when I bought my first jack from you, and then a second because I wanted to leave one unpainted on my desk as a showpiece!

Hello Mark,

very nice work, indeed. But are you sure that the labelling is correct? In German 20 tons would be named as '20 Tonnen'. All pics I found about this jack, in German named '20 Tonnen - Stockwinde', look like this:

Gerhard, thanks for your input, I have 20 tonne on my labelling, its not as if I don't know any Germans who I could have asked. It was more than 6 months ago I built the main body of the jack and cant remember where that information came from.

Hi Mark.
Nice to see a jack that is the correct length as all previous available jacks have been undersized.

I have just received my Tiger 1 long jack from Mark and thought I would post a couple of comparison photos of it with the Steve Winston jack just to highlight the size difference (Marks jack is on the left) .
I don’t have any references to compare either of them to, so potential buyers will have to make their own minds up.

Looking at this site, i'm afraid Steve you compare a 20t long and a 20t short jacks (or i missed the "undersizing" meaning in you post ?)

20tl and 20Ts being 90% identical (shortened "feet" + relocate lower handle for panther 20Ts compared to 20tl)

This is well explained on the site (better than i can do !)
This without discussing of the accuracy of the different jacks.
based upon pictures in panzerbasics site a picture with in parallel the 2 versions.
20t long an short panther jacks
20t long an short panther jacks
kind regards
Didier
