Sunday's Race
I spent Sunday afternoon with one eye on the lap top looking for detail photos of WWII fire extinguishers for the Sherman (see results in the Sherman section) and the other eye on the Grand Prix of Europe at Valencia. Being a new venue I was interested to see how things would go, especially on a semi street circuit, and I expected close racing. Alas to me it was a total procession and one of the most boring races I've seen. On a plus side I heard that the GP2 race was more competitive. If Chris Fry reads this I would be interest in views from the racing fraternity, it seemed like the team facilities were good but I got the impression from some drivers and team owners that he overal venue was not a hit.

Yep kinda boring race. I was there to see my first ever F1 race. A bit dissapointed since they had a big wall obscuring the view of the long straigt, the reason we chose that in the first place (curve 12 & 13). Would have been fun to see the cars at top speed, now we got to see them just after breaking. The sound even came out from behind the wall before the cars, amazing brakes
Alot of other small problems as well so I'm a bit mixed to wheter the trip was a success or not. Atleast I got so see and hear real F1 cars, really nice. Hamilton's car and driving was really nice in the curves we sat at. The Hondas on the other hand had loads of backfireing going in to the corner
Somewhat dissapointed when Kimi first botched up the pit stop and then broke the car I guess most spaniards were a bit dissapointed as well after Alonsos early exit.

hello all,
well what can i say, i think i need see you all at the open day over a beer and discuss this issue (robin/allan), as for the circuit, getting feed back from the team is quite amazing what they have built in 14 months, when you think it took 6 years to build the olympic stadium, i could witter on for ages but i will save it for the open day.
thanks, chris.

Chris,
It would be great to meet and have a beer at the open day. Don't get me wrong, I am a great fan of F1 and very rarely miss a race, on TV that is. I just want more cars in the field who have a realistic chance of winning in a straight race, sometimes the results of the middle runners interest me more than the winning four. I am also a keen follower of US drag racing and here there are a great variety of winners but having said that the last five top fuel races have been won by a guy called Tony Schumacher, it looks like the name Schumacher, motorsport and winning definately go together.
Robin,
I admit that this has nothng to do with tanks but sometimes its good just to have a conversation. I belong to an on-line air rifle club with a forum, and one of the sections is called "off topic chat". I think that would not be a bad idea here.
