Loctite and painted wheels

Post by Adam Osga »

As I'm in the process of cleaning and priming I was curious if anyone has had issues with adhesion of the tires to the wheels after the wheels had been painted? I'm wondering if I should tape the adhesion surface off for the priming/painting or is that overkill? I do note that most builds that I've looked at just paint the entire wheel.

Thanks,
Adam

Not sure about the tyre type but ordinary Loctite melts paint, so I'm planning on taping off that part of the wheels when I get round to them on the Tiger.

Adrian.

Loctite won’t work over paint do mask the contact area. Maybe epoxy if you want to glue to the paint

Ok, thank you. I'll be taping the bond areas off then.
