Hi all
On a swedish forum I saw this modification to the turret motor installation, where the owner moved it tio be installed in the hull instead of the deck.
Thought this is such a good idea that I wanted to share his picture. I will be doing this to my own Tiger.

I will try to get more pictures - and will also measure on my own Tiger how to install.
My guess is that the fixing of the motor to the vertical plate is done with countersounk screws. I have found alu plates on ebay that are ordered and I will update when I do my "dry-run"

Hi Steen
That is a good modification. That way the top deck can be removed and lay basically flat. I think the hull bracket should be reinforced a bit more than shown in picture as its pretty high mounted (ie prevent gear/motor deflection) but other than that looks great!
Thanks for posting.

@Robert - you may be right. Will see if a L type bracket could support the vertical alu part on the horisontal plate, which will fix it for sure

Could you combine the lateral deck support with the new vertical support plate and get rigidity that way ?
Adrian.

This is an innovation that could be translated to other Tanks as well, a great idea!
