2025 ARMORTEK KIT SURVEY

Over the last few years we have brought out a whole series of kits as a direct result of your feedback - kits like the Pershing, JagdPanther, Hetzer, Leopard 2A4, and more recently the Sd Kfz 7, 88mm Flak 36 and the upcoming Challenger 2.

So, in keeping with what has become and annual tradition, here is your opportunity to once again influence our future production plans.

We have added in some "guide pricing" next to the names of the models. This is a rough estimate of the price at the current rates.

Thanks in advance for your input and we look forward to the results.

Working with photoetch - advice

Post by Steen Vøler »

hi all

Just bought some very nice hinges for my Tiger 1 stowage bin. Thought they where ready to go, but I got it as a kit.

My question is - which tools do you use to bend the photoetch so that it rolls correct for the pin to attach the 2 parts

cheers
Steen

Hi Steen (looking at your enlarged photo makes me want to date an Asian girl for some reason) :D
You have a very tricky skilled job to do there as rolling a hinge is not easy, you will need a drill bit the same or a few thou slightly bigger than the hinge pin.
As the brass is very thin you should be able to roll the cut outs with your fingers and smooth flat pliers over the drill shank to form the roll on each of the two parts, I would try a test piece of old etch sheet if i were you and practice a bit.
Try not to get flats on the roll or they will be a bugger to get out.
If you mess them up then soft solder brass tube to the plates to form the hinge..........Phil.
