Hi all, Ive just got one of the new 2016 Audio Modules to put into my Panther G.
I am in the process of upgrading from a Q4D setup with more uptodate modules.
I see that the new Audio Module has one speaker wire and the instructions describe that the unit uses a Mono amp and is designed to use a single 8ohm speaker or a pair of 4ohm or 6ohm speakers connected in series.
I have a pair of the Tannoy speakers already, but don't know if they are 4, 6 or 8 ohms.
The manual does not mention the power output of the amp.
Can someone please confirm that this unit will also work with the Benediny Rotary Encoder unit in the same way that the previous Amplifier module worked.
Cheers
Tim

Re: 2016 Audio Module
According to this manual:
http://www.superfi.co.uk/images/manualb ... manual.pdf
the satellite speakers, which is what we use, have an impedance of 6 ohms. I would wire them in series as per your diagram and see whether they are loud enough for you.
The amplifier chip is the Maxim 9736A, which will produce 30W into a 4 ohm load when used in a mono configuration, which is how the new Audio Module appears to have been laid out. Two 6 ohm speakers in parallel are a total load of only 3 ohms, so I doubt the amp would play for long before going into thermal shutdown.
I'm not sure what you mean with the "Join Here" on your diagram, as that will short out the bottom speaker completely
As the new Audio Module still uses the TBS Mini, it is fully compatible with the encoder, though you may need to program the TBS Mini to enable that functionality.
Adrian.
