Hello Phil, I am keeping a close eye on your build particularly the weathering...excellent, brings the whole build to life. It's not a skill I have acquired over the years, there seems so much to do...not convinced that I am prepared to go the full nine yards however, I will give it a try at some point, with perhaps light shading. There is plenty of sound advice and information on the Forum...best wishes mate...keep on, keeping on.... Mick

Fantastic job on the Limber Phil, I actually like it better with the traversing ring on as you have done so may redo mine at some point.

There are some really good acrylic washes and effects now in bottles from companies like Vallejo which I am using more and more.

Thanks Mick, if you need any advice on weathering I am all ears and will point you in what ever direction you want to go, I am going to use the hair spray technique on the 25 pounder frame (sparingly I might add) to represent sand erosion on the upper surfaces. Your Panther would benefit from a touch of that.

Some progress with the 25 pounder, I've been adding some of Dave's detail parts and checking the finish/build quality with the second primer undercoat.

First of the top coats is applied, and some nice 25 pounders examples for reference.
The history of the 25 Pounder is fascinating, it's probably the most successful and the most famous gun ever produced, despite having a 2 part shell and case round, the gun crew would often fire around 300 rnds in a day (that's per gun). The Axis troops coming under fire from a Battery of 25 pounders, really believed that the gun had an automatic loading system.

As the sun was out for about 5 mins. The first proving trials to make sure it's all working ok, and the Quad performs faultlessly. I was a bit worried about the power to weight ratio but she's just fine pulling up the steep hill no problem, there's loads of torque and if anything possibly a bit to much available speed. Now back to finishing the gun and tweaking the detail here and there.

Lovely job Phil, well done. The only thing which spoils the illusion of reality is the tyre inflation. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to simulate the weight on wheels deforming the tyres? Easy to do on a static models but not easy for a durable set of running tyres. I suppose you could mould them in a much softer material but that would reduce durability. Any ideas? Well it's only a look see photo shoot Stephen but a good observation all the same, when I have finished the Holy Trinity (these things are never finished) and I shoot some proper video I planned to use dry sand under the wheels as this looks so much more realistic, also soft mud is good but not Long Grass as this looks pants! The Tarmac in these photos it far to flat and hard.

Very close to finishing the gun now, some pics of a wet Saturdays events. Once all is done the trinity will have to wait for some decent weather for a photo shoot, in the mean time it will be back to the KT make over.
