Stencils or Decals?

I'm at the point of my model build when I'm camouflaging and installing numbers, field crest & battalion markings. Do you have any advice as to the kind of decals or stencils to use and why. I'm leading towards stencils and have been looking into the armorpax ones. Any advice on your experiences on both decals or stencils and how you applied them will be helpful.
