Re: Elefant electronics
Good to see the Fibonacci spiral making it to the prototype stage
Would it need to be horizontal in a normal tank turret ?

Re: Elefant electronics
Good eye for detail Adrian ! £10 if you "Find Willy".
We only got the mechanism working today on the Elefant - not yet looked at the fittings into the other models. But the mechanism is probably wider than it is high.
Will post some videos of the recoil in action soon.

Hi Kian,
Could you please re-send this interior electronics photo with larger pixels again? The photo shown became totally dark screen and can't be viewed in larger format.
Any more photos from different POV are also much welcome.
With best regards,
Lerh Chang

I wasn't aware the Forum's recent glitch until to read the message in the top green area, then begin to experience that something are ab-normal:
(1), I can open Adrian's and other's photos --- Only a little bit slower than before ;
(2), I can not open the photo in the first message and photos I had posted --- It became a total darkness window;
(3) I can not open any down-loaded pdf.file, (eg, the "Elefant - Motion Control Module.pdf" in the Download section) . It shown a total white window.
I did refresh the page in my Google Chrome today, yet these three issues are still unsolved.
Can I have more advice please?

Re: Elefant electronics
I've bought a 2.4Ghz Futaba 10J 10ch T-FHSS AIR Transmitter and Receiver R3008SB in really cheap price from Ebay for this Elefant. So far the bench test was not so well, as Kian answered me that they maybe not suitable for Armortek's tank.
Until today, I didn't realise that the technology had been advanced more than I can imagined:
(1) This kind of TX and RX need to be "Linked" before being functional.
(2) FHSS is the abbreviation of (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum). It's different with the FASST = Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology . Frankly I know none of them.
(3) There are T-FHSS and slight different S-FHSS receivers. I still have no idea what the prefix "T" and "S" stand for? What the difference is?
(4) Last but not least, I still don't know how to "Mixing" the two channels that control two motors/tracks so one joystick (I think is on the right-hand-side) can control the Elefant's movement?
(5) Just when I think it could not be any worse, today while doing another bench test, the LED on the Remote Start became red, and a few seconds later, all of Motion Control, Audio, and Recoil Modules are off. Two 12V batteries were fully charged. The 4 of 1.5 Volt batteries in Transmitter were replaced by the brand new one. No improvement still.
Searching on the Google and YouTube was a job of more confusion. Most of them were not described for the tracked vehicle, plus speaking the languages that I don't understand.
Just my thought right now. I still need to sort them out eventually.

Re: Elefant electronics
hi chang. i also have the 10j tx in mode 1 which i run my pz4 with using the left stick to drive it with. initial setup wasn't to bad and i have no problems driving the pz4. i have also added a mixer module that allows both tracks to go forward when the stick is pushed straight forward forward and turn left or right when the stick is moved left or right

Re: Elefant electronics
Chang,
No need to do mixing for single stick operation just set up wing type as ELEVON and it does it for you on channels 1 and 2.
Dennis.

Re: Elefant electronics
Hi all,
So far, wired according the Schematics on page 11 of the Motion Control Module.pdf, I can use the Futaba T10J T-FHSS R/C system to control the Elefant's gun elevation, slew, recoil, muzzle flash LED and sounds on/off.
However, still struggling with it on the following two functions:
(1) Once press the the Remote Start button, two motion motors are automatically running synchronously and until press it off, I can't control them.
(2) The volume of sounds are really mild (only loud enough once when doing the first bench test), even the knob on the Audio Module was turned to the maximum.
The one joy-stick controlling issue will be the next, only after the above two issues fixed.
More reading, more bench testing are needed of course. More advice from all lads are also welcome.
Regards,
Lerh Chang

Re: Elefant electronics
where does the power for the rx come from. there's no power lead like previous power supply.
